An Evening of Flamenco Dance with Ensemble Iberica

We will finish our season of dance music with a Spanish flourish! Join us for a thrilling evening of Flamenco music with Kansas City’s own Flamenco group Ensemble Iberica. Hear the rhythms and melodies of Spain as the orchestra is joined by guitar, percussion, and vocals. Watch as the drama of the Flamenco dance is brought to our stage. It will be a great way to cap a season of Dance Mix!

ENSEMBLE IBÉRICA performs the music of Ibéria (Spain and Portugal) and the colonial Americas while educating the public about Ibérian cultural influence. Programs explore diverse time periods, styles, and locations including the Spanish baroque, Portuguese fado, and Argentine tango. The Ensemble features extraordinary musicians from classical, jazz, and folk traditions from the Kansas City area and around the world. Ensemble Ibérica’s robust educational outreach program has reached over 7,000 children to date with presentations about the history of Spain and its Kansas City connection, various regional dance styles, the relationship between guitar and dance, and their evolution throughout Spain and the Americas. These programs are offered free of charge at underserved area schools with the help of generous donors.
